High Atlas

Atlas Mountains

Berber villages beneath snowy peaks

Why visit

The High Atlas rises just south of Marrakech, with North Africa’s highest peak, Toubkal, at 4,167 metres. Its valleys are home to Amazigh villages, terraced fields and rushing rivers.

  • Whether you want a gentle valley walk, a traditional lunch with a Berber family or a serious trek, the mountains offer a peaceful escape from the city.

What not to miss

Ourika Valley

Imlil

Asni market
